About NGVsNow
NGVsNow (Natural Gas Vehicles Now) is a national campaign dedicated to raising awareness and support for vehicles powered by natural gas: the clean, inexpensive fuel that is naturally abundant in the United States. NGVsNow asks Americans to rally together for natural gas vehicles (NGVs) to secure a cleaner, safer and more prosperous America. The promise and impact NGVs offer our environment, economy and national security are too valuable to pass up. By transitioning from petroleum to natural gas powered vehicles we can break our addiction to foreign oil while creating jobs and protecting our environment.

Natural gas is already a central part of the nation’s energy supply, accounting for 23 percent of total energy consumed in the county. Natural gas is used in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors, including heating 51 percent of households in America. What’s more, we have enough natural gas to power America for over 100 years. Yet less than 1 percent of natural gas is currently being used in one of the most beneficial ways: to fuel vehicles. This must change. If natural gas is here and abundant, why are we sending millions of dollars overseas to feed our oil addiction? NGVs offer America a chance to create jobs at home and stop sending money abroad.
With your support, we can end our addiction to oil, create jobs, and increase national security. Now is the time to say no to oil. And yes to natural gas.
Moreover, NGVs are a greener alternative to petroleum vehicles. NGVs reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20 to 30 percent compared with diesel and gasoline fueled vehicles, and produce between 93-95 percent less overall toxics. In fact, if just one truck were converted from diesel to natural gas, the reduction in pollution would be the equivalent of taking 325 cars off the road.
If America is serious about a cleaner and more environmentally friendly future, we must embrace NGVs.
